Operational update on development program

ASA, the developer of a proprietary Fischer-Tropsch technology that converts synthetic gas into fuel including sustainable aviation fuel (“SAF”) is pleased to provide an update on the next phase of its development program.

On 14 October 2022, ASA commenced the shipping of its 2 barrel/day reactive distillation column to the UK for testing downstream of a municipal waste gasification process.

The objective of the testing will be to produce SAF and renewable diesel as a precursor to the construction of modular municipal waste to fuel facilities from the end of 2023.

It is forecast that circa 120 billion gallons of SAF will be required by 2050 if the aviation sector is to achieve Net Zero.  A successful test of the unit in the UK opens up a very significant market for ASA’s patented technology.

The unit will be commissioned in Q1 2024 downstream of an interface module that will remove impurities and improve the hydrogen content of the synthetic gas produced from the municipal waste.

Simultaneously, ASA plans to construct a 50 barrel/day gas to liquids facility to convert flared natural gas into synthetic crude.  This is subject to ASA securing the requisite finance.

Notes to Editors

ASA is a private company, incorporated in the British Virgin Islands.

The Company has patented a technology that simplifies and improves the Fischer-Tropsch process for converting synthetic gas (hydrogen and carbon monoxide) into SAF and other renewable petroleum products.

Synthetic gas can be sourced from municipal waste, biomass, flared natural gas and industrial waste gas.

It is estimated that 120 billion gallons of sustainable aviation fuel will be required by 2050 for the aviation sector to reach its Net Zero target.  This is a significant target market for ASA’s Fischer-Tropsch reactive distillation column.
